"Getting ready" Rewind!

Here are a few images I really like from Shawn & Kim's wedding. I absolutely love the bride getting ready images, they are my most fav to shoot! It's something about the before and after transformation, the impact of the final results! They always invite plenty of artistic opportunities!

Texture Test!

I have been inspired by Carla Ten Eyck's texture work of late so I decided to seek out some textures myself and give it a whirl. The image is my wife Erin 4 months pregnant with my son at lighthouse beach at the cape. This is my first shot at it so let me know what you think! Not to mention Kevin Kubota's actions too! I found thousands of textures on a free site, click here to check'um out!

Toy Story 3 Promo!

Toy Story 3 Promo, well not really, but I've heard rumors of the production and I'm totally siked! My wife, son, mother and I took a trip out to the sunflower farm in Griswold a few weeks back. I saw a post that photographers Justin and Mary put on their blog about a shoot they did there and I was very intrigued. Needless to say, 2 weeks had gone buy since I saw the post when we decided to go(1hr drive). A big mistake! EVERY SINGLE SUNFLOWER WAS DEAD!!!!!!!!! o.k maybe 10 where still alive. So of course, the only thing left to do naturally was to grab "my son's" Buzz & Woody and take some goofy pictures. My wife thought I lost my mind, my son was laughing and my mother kept shaking her head. I felt like Chevy Chase in national lampoons!
Anyway, we had ice cream from Buttonwood Farms and all was well, after all nothing beats a day away from the norm in the country! Alls well that ends well.

Little Julia

Meet Julia, the most adorable little girl I've ever seen. I've been friends with her mom and dad since freshman year in high school, so we go way back! 1989! This was her Baptism which was quite fun, it also was a mini reunion of some old friends. Non the less, here is a little peep of the future diva!

Hugh & Maggie

This last image says it all, pure wedding bliss! Another reminder for me as to why I love shooting weddings! Hugh & Maggie are living the good life, they set sail on their 30 ft SeaRay to Block Island right after the reception. How cool is that!!!
Sometimes it seems at one point or another, we all take love for granted and I'm no exception. When you see a couple this deeply in love, it can only refill your spirit and act as a reminder of the love you yourself share.

Sal & Angel

Well it's time to catch up!!!!! I had back 2 back weddings the two days before my vacation and one three days after we got back, so it's been a hectic week........................now I'm breathing.

Sal and Angel were the nicest couple you could ask to photograph! Sal had a big Sicilian family, which I happen to be, so I knew they would be fun and Angel's bridesmaids were the life of the party! Non stop eating, drinking and dancing. What more can I say?

Virginia Dreaming........

Well I'm back from Va. sad to say, It's my home away from home! After all, I did live there for 8 years and I haven't been back for 5. It was a great trip that brought us from the Blue Ridge to Colonial Williamsburg, a vacation well needed. Here's a handful of pics I thought were cool, time was limited but I took advantage of what I had!

John and I at his house overlooking the mountains. John had no idea we were coming, it's been 5 years since we've hung out ( needless to say, he was very surprised, thanks kim for keeping it hush, hush )! Since that time, he and his wife Kimberly have opened Cottle Multi-Media and now are my exclusive photo lab.

Colonial gardens and houses
All sorts of cool stuff to shoot, I could've spent a week just on one street!
Colonial interpreters
Old heir loom Gardens
Giant sunflowers

Heading to Williamsburg!

Well the Blue ridge was awesome as expected, and now we are off to Williamsburg! We took a 3 mile hike up to Crabtree Falls which is a must see to anyone who can get down there. While we're in "the burg" we're going to Busch Gardens and Water Country, which should be lots of fun. I'll be posting images soon so stay tuned!

Off to Virginia!

We're going to spend a few days in the Blue Ridge Mountains to see John & Kimberly ( Cottle Multi-Media our photo lab) then off to Va Beach via Colonial Williamsburg. We used to live in Williamsburg for 7 years and haven't been back since we moved to CT. (5 Years). It should be an interesting journey! Check out the Williamsburg Inn, I used to be a chef there for 4 years! It was 5 star 5 diamond resort recreated to be in the times of the 1700's. It was an awesome job but the hours were crazy!

I'll be sure to blog while we're down there and take plenty of photos too!

I can hear John Denver singing country roads in my head already!
